What is Trooker? Trooker is an up-to-the-minute video viewing community. With Trooker, you can trook your friends and share your watching experience by instantly exchanging videos with them. What is Trooking? Sending your video choices to friends and instant messaging each other within Trooker is what we call “trooking”. You can trook individual videos or you could even trook complete video sets. Interesting videos make for some very interesting conversation. There are some who say that this is more addictive then… well, you know what we mean. Where are the videos coming from? Trooker currently searches real-time online video communities such as YouTube, MySpace, Metacafe, DailyMotion and LiveVideo. We will be adding other videos sources soon. What are Video Sets? Creating a Video Set is a way you can organize your favorite videos that you have saved to your Trooker viewer. If you create a set, you can choose which videos to include, move them around, and if you like, you can publish it. This makes the set available on the internet. You can embed your set onto your blog, MySpace or Facebook page. The people that visit your page will be able to see your choice of videos running continuously, as well as any additional images and comments that you want to incorporate. Is Trooker a web site or do I have to install it? Trooker has now been launched as a web site. If you have old Trooker Player application installed it should still work for you. We are working on a new incarnation of our installable application based on Apollo which will unify our online flex app and installable client. Can I download videos with Trooker? No, you can’t. Not that we’re technically incapable of making it so you could. But because the sources that we get the videos from do not allow downloading, we don’t provide that feature. Can I add my own videos to Trooker? You can, you just have to upload them to one of existing video sites such as YouTube or Metacafe. Can I see where the video came from? Absolutely. Just click on the video in the Trooker player or the link in the video description and you’ll go straight to the site where it came from. Can I use Trooker on another computer? Sure you can. Your profile is stored on our servers so you can login from any computer by accessing http://www.trooker.com . What are Trooker installation prerequisites? You need Flash 9 installed. Can I Trook people that are not using Trooker? No, you can’t currently. You can only Trook friends that are using Trooker. If they are not logged into Trooker they will receive your message, videos and video sets later when they logon. You can tell who is logged onto Trooker by checking your buddy list in the Trooker chat window. What are Trooker channels? Trooker channels are active searches that you define, based on either a tag or a user. The channels get updated from time to time (the default time is 30 minutes and upon Trooker startup). When you log in, you can see new alerts by checking the alerts icon (beside the guide and chat icon). If it is red, it means that there are new videos for the channels that you have defined. Over time, the alert colors turn to orange and then to green as the alerts become stale. (Note: Trooker channels are comming to the web version soon) Do I have to buy Trooker? No, Trooker is free. We are not spyware, adware or anything like that. We don’t track your behavior and we don’t intrude upon your privacy in any way. |
